Synergy Pharmacy, operated by Workers First Pharmacy Services, LLC, respects the privacy of patients who participate in our SMS text messaging program.
This policy describes how we collect, use, protect, and share information related to SMS communications.
This policy supplements our general website privacy policy and other applicable patient privacy notices.
2. Information We Collect
When you enroll in our SMS messaging program or communicate with us by text message, we may collect:
- Your name and mobile telephone number
- Your SMS consent status
- The date, time, and method of consent
- Records of electronically signed SMS consent forms
- SMS messages sent to and received from you
- Information related to prescription processing, medication coordination, shipment and delivery, or pharmacy services
- Other information you voluntarily provide during SMS communications
3. How We Use Your Information
We use SMS-related information to provide and coordinate pharmacy services, including:
- Prescription processing and status notifications
- Refill coordination and reminders
- Medication-related communications
- Shipment and delivery coordination
- Insurance and prescription authorization follow-up
- Requests for information needed to provide pharmacy services
- Customer service and patient support
Messages may be sent individually by authorized pharmacy personnel or automatically through pharmacy communication systems.
We do not use our SMS messaging program to send marketing or promotional messages.
4. SMS Consent
Synergy Pharmacy sends SMS messages to patients who have affirmatively consented to participate in the SMS messaging program.
Consent may be collected using an electronic form, digitally signed document, or another legally permitted method that Synergy Pharmacy implements.
Where applicable, we maintain records of consent, including the mobile number, consent date and time, method of consent, and associated disclosure.
Consent to receive text messages is not a condition of receiving pharmacy services.
5. Mobile Information Sharing
No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes.
Mobile information, including phone numbers and SMS consent records, will not be sold, rented, or provided to third parties for their own marketing or promotional use.
We may share information with service providers who assist in transmitting or managing SMS communications, solely as necessary to operate the SMS service and subject to applicable contractual, privacy, and security obligations.
We may also disclose information when required or permitted by applicable law.
SMS opt-in data and consent records will not be shared with third parties or affiliates for their own marketing or promotional purposes.
6. Protection of Patient Information
Synergy Pharmacy takes reasonable administrative, technical, and physical measures to protect information associated with our SMS messaging program.
As a healthcare provider, we handle applicable protected health information in accordance with HIPAA and other applicable privacy and security laws.
SMS messaging may not provide the same level of security as encrypted patient communication systems. Patients should avoid sending highly sensitive information through ordinary text messages.
When appropriate, Synergy Pharmacy may direct patients to a more secure method of communication.
7. Opting Out of SMS Communications
Patients may withdraw their consent to receive SMS messages at any time by replying STOP to a message from Synergy Pharmacy.
Following an opt-out request, Synergy Pharmacy will discontinue SMS communications to that number, except for an opt-out confirmation or other communications permitted by applicable law.
Patients may request to resume SMS communications by replying START or contacting the pharmacy to complete a new opt-in process.

9. Message Frequency and Charges
Message frequency varies based on your pharmacy service needs and interactions with our staff.
Message and data rates may apply according to your wireless service plan.
10. Data Retention
SMS communications, consent records, and related information may be retained as necessary to provide pharmacy services, document communications and consent, meet legal and regulatory obligations, resolve disputes, and maintain operational records.
Information is retained and disposed of in accordance with applicable laws and Synergy Pharmacy’s record-retention practices.
11. Changes to This Policy
Synergy Pharmacy may update this SMS Privacy Policy from time to time.
Updates will be posted on this page with a revised effective date.
